Barham High School is delivering high-quality vocational education that expands pathways and prepares rural students for employment, training and further study.

Students access five VET courses—Construction, Hospitality, Manufacturing, Fitness and Primary Industries—leading to nationally recognised qualifications. These programs are supported by recently upgraded, industry-standard facilities, funded through targeted grants, ensuring students train using equipment aligned to real workplace expectations.

In a rural context where access to pathways can be limited, the school’s no-cost education model removes financial barriers, ensuring all students can participate fully in VET.

Students complete mandatory work placement, locally and through broader industry experiences, providing authentic workplace exposure and strengthening career readiness. Pathways are further enhanced through increasing participation in School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBATs), alongside TAFE and tertiary pathways and structured tertiary tours.

This approach is delivering clear outcomes, with students transitioning into employment, apprenticeships and further training.
