Background
Since 1994, the Australian Rural Education Awards have recognised excellence in rural education across regional, rural and remote Australia. The awards are coordinated by SPERA and presented to an individual, institution, organisation or industry demonstrating outstanding practice in rural education.
Over three decades, the awards have become a national platform for recognising innovation, partnership and impact in rural education. The AREAs are announced at the biennial National Conference for Regional, Rural and Remote Education (NCRRRE).
